A Case In Point
A customer wanted a partner who could handle everything from start to finish. They turned to Snap-on Industrial. We provided a custom-built turnkey tool crib system including tools, storage, cabinets, shelving and all electrical components including lighting, and air conditioning. The real key was using Snap-on's Level 5TM Tool Control System to achieve complete tool management.
Level 5 provides complete control, from CAD tool control layouts and electronic keyless entry to sophisticated database management that enables complete and accurate tool tracking.
The first deployment went to Milford, Connecticut with over 5000 tools set up on the system for servicing a turbine power facility. Snap-on helped with the tool selection and managing the overall implementation. Plus, the set-up was totally repeatable, for use at any of the company's outages across the country.
Today, everything is a lot more efficient - both the crib and the people who use it. A millright working at a facility in Trapp, Kentucky put it like this "My past experience with tool trailers typically consisted of spending the first part of the outage running around from drawer to drawer looking for the tools you need. In this tool crib, we ask for a tool and it's given to us."
