Snap-on Driver Brad Keselowski Wins NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship
First NASCAR Sprint Cup Title for Penske Racing
In the 30-year partnership between Snap-on and Penske Racing, there have been multiple Indy 500 championships and IRL season titles but on Sunday, the Penske Racing team did something it had never done before. With his strong top 20 finish at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, Penske driver Brad Keselowski captured the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship. It was the first-ever NASCAR Sprint Cup title for Keselowski as well as the first for team owner Roger Penske and his Penske Racing team.
“Everyone at Snap-on is ecstatic to be able to share this historic moment with the Penske Racing team. We are proud that Snap-on is associated with the best driver in NASCAR,” said Yvette Morrison, vice president of marketing, Snap-on Tools Group. “We want to congratulate Brad, Roger and the entire Penske Racing team on winning the Sprint Cup Championship and we look forward to continued great success partnering with Penske Racing.”
At the Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday, Keselowski’s 15th-palce finish gave him 2,400 points on the season, 39 points ahead of the runner-up. For the year, Keselowski won five races and had 13 top five finishes and 23 top 10 finishes.
The 2013 NASCAR season kicks off with the Daytona 500 on Feb. 24. Cruz Pedregon and the Snap-on Funny Car will return to action on Feb. 15 at the NHRA Winternationals in Pomona, Calif.
